Analysis of the use potential of process waste

For many companies, the potential to re-use process waste is an opportunity to develop new products and business models, and to increase the economic and environmental sustainability of their commercial operations. Including process waste in its business model also increases a company’s resilience, while initiating virtuous value chains both inside and outside the company, in the light of the concept of a circular economy.

Fraunhofer Italia runs feasibility and pre-feasibility studies, taking into account technical, economic and environmental issues, to assist companies in assessing the potential of their business ideas for the re-use of their process waste.

The solutions under consideration reflect the current state of the art in applied research, from fully mature ready-to-use solutions to promising options in the last stages of prototyping.
